Keep in mind that is is a Statin Drug. I believe the prescription version is called something like Lovastatin. It just prevents your body from making cholesterol. As your body does that naturally. Sugar causes your body to create the small particle LDL type cholesterol that is the most damaging to your arterial walls and such as they are small enough to pass through damaged endothelium and such. And such things cause plaque buildup and hardening of the arteries. Or something like that. There's plenty of new research on how the smaller particle size cholesterol is the most damaging. Either LDL or even HDL (some say). Basically stick with healthy fats and don't overdo them and go easy on the sugar as it's basically like a poison to the body and your liver actually breaks it down the same as if it were alcohol. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM Just watch that video for a better explanation. Well worth the time. Shane, your diet plan sound good...just increment along the way till your at the weight and health you like and are happy with how and what you eat. No draconian measures that cause you to get frustrated and binge for a month till your worse them you were before.
