Unfortunately, this is a title that is unfriendly with Shield Controllers.
1) The game will actually crash on start up if a recognized controller isn't found
2) Will only identify 360 controllers
3) If you have a 360 controller plugged into USB, the first Shield Controller you have plugged in will mirror the 360 controller - but not act alone.
4) Even in the config app, it won't see the Shield controllers at all.
