Most of you know I've been using AVS4YOU's Video Editor for some time now; hard to beat the price vs performance. But, it hasn't been updated much lately and I was having a lot of issues with it under Windows 8 (crashing and what not). So I decided to give Corel's offering a try. I managed to get it with some deal and a coupon for under $50. www.videostudiopro.com/en/products/videostudio/pro/default.htmlIt is similar in operation to AVS4You's offering; I felt right at home with the UI (plus I'm a Paint Shop Pro user and the interface is comparable). One of the really neat bonuses with it is that it comes with a screen video capture tool like Camtasia Studio (hundreds of dollars) and it works REMARKABLY well. Anyway, those looking for something new to play with, they have a demo/trial version.

This being a Corel product, how bad is the DRM? Do they install some janky 3rd party service always running in the background to ensure you're not a filthy pirate?

Eh, not that important. I just figured you of all people would check into such things before installing
